Lagoa Bonita (Beautiful Lagoon) lives up to its name: its extravagant landscape impresses amidst the vastness of the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, in the state of Maranhão.

Located at a more distant point than the other ponds in the region, getting to Lagoa Bonita requires going on trails. The dunes around it are higher and form a scenario with a wider horizon, offering a feeling of infinity.

Access to it, as well as to all the other ponds, is provided by vehicles with 4 x 4 traction and the trip lasts about 1 hour. Getting there is not easy, since the roads are made of soft sand and the ground is uneven.

The jeep tours are one of the attractions that ensure adrenaline up to the bed of the pond. After a walk through the sands, its beauty is a sight for sore eyes.
