Praia do Francês is located in Marechal Deodoro, Alagoas, about 25 km away from Maceió, capital of the State. The site served as a harbor for initially French pirate ships, which were exploring for pau-Brasil(species of Brazilian timber tree), abundant in the Atlantic Forest in the colonial era.
Over the last 20 years, the beach has begun to stop being a secret, and has become one of the most popular beaches in the region. There you will find the movement of an urban beach, but without promenades or walls of buildings.
Tents with all kinds of snacks are in front of the tamest part of the bay, which is protected by a barrier reef.
These reefs form natural pools of pale waters, allowing boat trips to observe the marine life.
On the right side of the Francês (surname of Praia do Francês), the waves are strong and attract surfers, and on the left side, the calm waters are great for families with children and bathers in general.
Many street vendors offer products throughout the day.
Police: 190
The high temperatures of the site require light clothing and sandals.
High tide, it can bring jellyfish and other dangerous marine life.
The beach is monitored by cameras, but it’s still worth being cautious at night.
