Inaugurated in 1996, the Bosque do Alemão in Curitiba is an homage to german imigrants in the State of Paraná. With its 38,000 meters square of native forest, the Bosque do Alemão is a copy of the presbiterian church with a Gothic revival arquitecture, house of Bach’s Oratorio. The Bosque do Alemão has a children’s library and a lookout with a view of Serra do Mar (Sea Ridge).
There is a pedestrian walk made with 15 meters long eucalyptus trunks conecting the outdoor garden to the outlook, located above the Torre dos Filósofos (Philosophers Tower).
The trail João e Maria (Hansel and Gretel) which tells the famous tale written by Grimm Brothers, goes through the Casa Encantada (Enchanted House), a copy of the witch’s house depicted in the tale, a place to encourage children to read.
